Welcome!

I am currently an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Oklahoma, Norman. I conduct empirical work about management practices and firm performance (productivity, innovation, profitability), utilizing novel survey design, field experiments, natural experiments and structural models.

My recent work has emphasized how entrepreneurs and executives make and implement strategy, and how structured practices, such as scientific learning and data analytics can help mitigate psychological biases.

During 2020/2021, I was part of an interdisciplinary team tracking COVID-19 for the Utah State Governor. Our work on the economic effects of mask mandates (covered e.g. by The Washington Post, Forbes and CBS) was instrumental in keeping state-wide mask mandates in Utah in place during fall 2020.
